Advisory
Board
An
Advisory Board provides advice and support for the Project, with its
members having expertise in the sociological analysis and use of
letters (John Brewer, University of Aberdeen), narrative theorising in
the social sciences (Stevi Jackson, University of York), editing
primary source literary materials (Ann Heilmann, Hull University),
South African social history and primary sources (Howard Phillips, Van
Riebeeck Society and University of Cape Town), a key letters and
correspondence project (Jan Broadway, Centre for Editing Lives and
Letters, QMC), and the archivist of the key Schreiner letter collection
(Ms Lesley Hart, Manuscripts & Archives, University of Cape
Town).
Members
of
the Advisory Board will meet virtually with Project staff six times
during the funding period. In addition, Project staff will meet twice
face to face with its UK members, and twice face to face with its South
African members. The first Advisory Board meeting will review the
mark-up guidelines and discuss Project deadlines; later it will review
and also beta-test the prototype website.
